Mrs. Duke has her BFA and an M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction STE(+A)M at Salisbury University. During her M.Ed. she worked at the Curriculum Resource Center (Teachers Library) at Salisbury University. She graduated as summa cum laude in which she was inducted into the International Honor Society for Teachers, Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) in 2014. She is a NIH certified instructor and has held a ACSI certification.
This is Mrs. Duke's 2nd year at LWC and is excited to be the Media Center/ Instructional Technology Coordinator. She lived in Maryland for 24 years with her family and decided to move to South Florida in pursuit of warmer weather. After working in the field of Architecture Mrs. Duke started a family and decided to go into teaching to be able to support her 3 boys education, during their formative years. She has worked in Adult Education as a college ESL Curriculum & Instruction Specialist after receiving her M. Ed. She provided PD for college instructors on ESL standards and instructional approaches to 21st Century technology tools. Before that she served for seventeen years as a christian school & public school, secondary STEM teacher, teaching MS/ HS sciences, primarily honors level Chemistry, Cambridge Biology & Physics.
Mrs. Duke was 1 of 13 candidates, picked from hundreds of candidates, from all over the US and 3 other countries. In order to be the state of Maryland's teacher Ambassador for Zooniverse.org. Through this honor she was able to have a technology, research driven field experience at Adler Planetarium in Chicago.
Mrs Duke is the 2018 Palm Beach County Softball Coach of the year! 2018 LWC Girls softball won Regionals and were in the "Final Four" at the FHSAA State Softball Tournament.
