Lake Worth Christian School is committed to Growing Christian Leaders already at the Pre-kindergarten level. We recognize the need to nurture the whole child, combining academics with spiritual, emotional, and personal growth.
Our program strives to be personalized. This requires a delicate balance avoiding the extremes of either a lockstep-workbook or an individualistic child-determined approach. The personalized approach allows for group and individual learning, creativity, and purposeful teacher directed strategies, which bring out student strengths. This approach allows advanced students to progress while also meeting the needs of those who develop more slowly. Being part of an elementary and high school system, we pay careful attention to sequenced program development. In an interdenominational setting, children are taught to apply traditional Biblically Christian values in our contemporary world, the children are taught by caring, certified, Christian teachers.
The Pre-kindergarten program is designed to prepare the child academically and socially for Kindergarten. A child must be 4 by September 1 to be eligible to enter Pre-kindergarten. At the center of the curriculum is the awareness that God is involved in everything that is studied, experienced, or observed. Developing appropriate language skills, investigating the environment, and coordinating different body movements are just some examples of student activities. Specialists in music, Spanish, and library enhance their weekly program. At the end of the first semester, students begin taking field trips in the community.
